So 1.19 hp/ci can't be had without supercharging? Come on...

UH oh. Here come's the schit storm ! LOL.

Yeh, it can. But may I suggest more compression, correct quench, good port work, valve job, and etc, don't go small on the cam, and a good , real good exhaust.

How are you coming up with your compression ratio. Is it possible to get 9.2 CR with .064?

That doesnt sound right.

Mr Maine - I'm just being realistic. Upper 400's to maybe 500hp in a typical I/O with those cubes is a strong build.

Do you have twins or single ? Lightweight boat ?

Arent 308's like 105 CC's?

That adds up to like 8.5 CR with a normal flat top piston.

That is existing quench, need to get it down. Quench isn't compression. I can set that with decking the heads.

Keith, these are domed pistons. Merc 420 was 8.8:1

SB the boat in question is my old 311 SR-1. So no, I wouldn't call her lightweight.
