I don't have to worry about reversion - the GIL i have have the 500HP style, to save a little money right now - i will probably keep the stock intake since it seems to be a good one, maybe i'll try a spacer

Yes- those are the good short pipes. Don't go larger than the crane 731 cam. Like I mentioned in my post, I'm running the 741 cam with dry to the tip tails that extend though the transom. While I do not get reversion, I would not run my cam with anything but the long pipes, or totally dry pipes. Good luck with your project!

We used the World Industries Merlin Single plane intake. It has the brass liners vs. the automotive based intakes.

I ran the 741 cam in a 540ci, with single plane dart, and std length/rise wet bravo tails with stainless marine manifolds years ago. No reversion issues.
