All the overseas H beams are a compromise. I do about 20 engines a year that we consider "budget" where we will use the Manley and all the headaches are on the front end when we are building an engine. We will get a Rod that doesn't weigh close to the others and shouldn't have ever made it past QC, but we deal with it before they go in and past that the engines run fine. Carrillo pro H with a Carr bolt is a much better Rod, and quite a bit more money.

If you have the money, there are a lot more durable I-beam rods out there that will take a beating.

We always used a valve cover spacer when we ran girdles in the drag boats . They are cheap . And I know this tread is old but if you are at all worried about rods ... Carrillo rods and Carrillo rod bolts .
