Stupid Prop Question
Took the props off the XZ drives night before last in the dark to send off to be labbed.
Looking at the boat yesterday and noticed 4 black plactic strips about 1/2 inch wide x 1/8 inch thick x 3 inches long laying on the ground under the port drive.
It appears that these came out of the prop/hub assembly?
I guess the ones on the starboard drive stayed in?
What are these used for and exactly where do they go?
There are four grooves on the outside of the hub. Do they go there between the hub and propeller?
You should never work in the dark!
I don't ever remember seeing these on my old Bravo 1.
Thanks Mark

You are correct. When new the solid hub has these pieces glued in the small grooves at each corner of the hub. They are supposed to keep the hub from just "falling out" when you pull a prop off the drive. Just reglue them when you reinstall props.
Just curious--where did you send props to be labbed?

Thanks Bigwavz,
I sent the props to Darin at Houston Propeller. The calls and e-mails I received from him led me to believe he know his stuff.
Should have them back next week. I will let you know how they turn out.
Thanks again Mark
