Trs drive pump question
I was wondering how this set up actually works. Trs drives and merctrans. There are two pump lines that come out of the transom assembly and went to the top of the merctrans. Is this where the the drive pump gets oil from to operate the drive. I'm confused.
I am eliminating electric shift and going manual however that's where the two lines threaded into. The manual shift brackets I got on oso also came with a similar looking fluid block minus the electric shift part? Will post a pic of the old one that was attached to the electric shift. I must be missing something cause for the life of me I don't see how that would get oil from trans as its just mounted to the trans.

That's the drive pump one way lock for the trim rams. old school pump only has holding pressure on way. you have to change the trim pump to new style also. if that's the part I think it is

That is the reverse lock out on top of the trans. It keeps the fluid from flowing in the trim line when you are in reverse. You still need it with your swap to manual.

One of the two lines coming in from the transom goes directly to the pump,that's the trim up line. The other line coming in from the transom goes to this reverse lock valve. this is the trim down line. Then another line which is a clear or white plastic runs from the reverse lock valve to the pump.

Yea I'm not not real familiar with this old school stuff but honestly don't usually get stumped like this.
Ok makes since then. I suppose the easiest thing would be to do is mount them back on merctrans and use. That explains that little cam that moves when trans shifts.

Did you get the lever with your manual linkage that goes in place of the electric shift fork? When swooping them be sure to grease the cam and follower which operate the plunger in the reverse lock valve.

The electric part I believe you are talking about is the neutral start switch so you can only start the engine in neutral. Removing it would depend on if it is being used or not. Not sure how your boat is rigged. My neutral start switch is in my shifter so I eliminated it. Won't hurt nothing to leave it there.
