Default Single engine v-bottom #6ssm

Been working on a single engine v-bottom with a #6 for the better part of 2 seasons. Would really love to talk to anyone who has done anything like this to get some ideas regarding set up. I know that there are some single engine cats with #6's but their set up would be totally different.

thanks
Bill

Default #6 drives

Bill, call up Merc High Performance. They should help you out! They are in Fond Du Lac. For the price of the #6 drive they should come out and install it for you!

Dennis they don't have a clue. They gave us a recommendation for drive location but later said it was a guess and they weren't sure. They have been very nice but they aren't much help.

Check300, I read an article once about a computer program that New Era used to set drive heights on a Volvo triple. It seemed that this program helped them set the drive heights (not trial and error) on a totaly new setup. Maybe they can steer you in the right direction.

Have you spoken to Checkmate? They should have some good ideas if not know where to set the X for best performance. Hallett boats builds some smaller v hull boats with # 6 drives for water ski racing and they may have some pointers for you. Good luck! Let us know how it is going.

Bill,
You might try posting on Gen Discussion. Maybe a reference to this thread. More people look at Gen Disc than here.. you might get a bite or two.

So are you starting with a clean slate now, ready to cut some holes? Just not sure where... I know when you do get it.. it's really going to get it!! that is a super combination!!
I hope you can find the right combo soon..

Dick
