need to reseal machine marine steering rams, anybody know how to get apart without screwing up finish ? thanks Rob

I've done my stainless Kaama cylinders numerous times. I use leather to cushion the vice and wood and leather to put on tool faces to unscrew the ends. After that, everything else is standard hydraulic cylinder stuff available at any decent hydraulic shop. Reassemble the same way.

They have a little bit of loctite on them. I needed a little heat to remove the caps without having to clamp them.
