Plug question on 906/062 SB Vortex heads
As you can see it calls for the MR45 which is a shorter plug way up in the hole this doesn't look right to me. We put a longer plug that also goes to a 5.7 SB. Would you run the longer plug?

The vortec heads take a long plug. MR43LTS
The pre-votec's take the normal T's and TS's.
Reason on the vortec's having different plugs is because they centered the plug better and got it so the tip of plug would go deeper into combustion chamber.
Never run the T's in a LTS required head - will have a hard time firing air/fuel since it will be way deepinto the threads of head.
never run the LTS's in a T required head as it will be too far into the chamber and it eill have many exposed spark plug threads. Dangerous !

Ayuh,.... That sticker don't belong on a Vortec headed motor,....
Like SB says, the Vortec heads take the AC Delco, MR43LTS,......
The MR43T is for older SBC heads,....

Found this late last night after I remembered that a had a owners manual. For two years I've been running the wrong ones. I installed the first ones that you guys recommended (LTS) along with the book tonight. Can't believe they have the placard is wrong on top of the motors. I'm going to have to check with other P-29 owners see if anyone else is making the same mistake...

I'd be shocked if your engine doesn't run a lot better.
