I'm willing to get you wouldn't gain any speed. To take my boat from 70 to 80 I needed to add 400 hp. So that's 40 hp per mph, however I'm also running shorty lowers so that number is most likely even higher. If you gained 10 hp in the boat I'd be shocked. Did you ever lab your props? If so what were the gains?

I installed these inserts and noticed zero loss in performance with CMI headers and about 500hp, which isn't much, but in my research guys pumping out 1000hp installed them with no loss in power. I would think that they'd be pretty restrictive pushing water through those little rings, but that was not the case. I just don't see dry tips magically uncorking the power that you're looking for unless you had a cam that could only run dry tips.

Icdedppl and i have dry exhaust, with mufflers. 800/900hp engines that sound like 330s with wet exhaust around the docks.

Ive ran wet , dry, dry with mufflers ,dry with turndowns, ...theres plenty of sound solutions these days where you can have quiet, AND a cam that isnt a reversion crutch.

If you have no experience with a subject, you really shouldnt be advising a guy on what to do, or not to do.

I ran stainless marine 3s with 5" tails on my baja at 1000+ hp, the water exited in the last 1/2" of tails which was about 4" past the transom, under boost you could hear the boat miles away and it made your head rattle, boat ran 99.5 gps, bought ggb mufflers, boat still ran 99.5 gps w mufflers, lost one in 100 feet of water, bought a set of the most restrictive looking gibson mufflers for 400$, in back to back testing saw ZERO speed loss, fwiw, Smitty

But the internet is for handing out bad advice...I figured by now the usual suspects know that I know jack chit about boats and take it with a grain of salt.

That said, looking at those graphs on FB shows a significant difference in power, so I stand by my argument that I don't know jack chit.

Your argument is not valid. You state "you dont know jack chit", but since you know you dont know jack chit, that means you know something. Give yourself a little credit

Is there a benefit in a raw water cooled application to Introduce water at the transom rather than being full wet (OE)?
