Amazing your head gaskets haven't burnt through between the cylinders yet. My buddy's '03 500's were toast at 300 hours.

I'll also add the tops of his cylinder walls were starting to get "egg-shaped" so both engines needed to be bored out.

The compression numbers look fine, but a leakdown tells the real story

4 cyls at 170. they could have a lil build-up and making the worst at 155 seem worse than they are. if the 2 170's also read 165, you wouldn't even consider rebuilding...

Congrats for making it this long on your engines, but I agree with some of the other guys here....I tend to think you're pushing it...i.e. on borrowed time with that many hours on the top ends. To me, it would be a "no brainer"....Better to pay a little $$$ now and do the top ends verses waiting for something to grenade and cost a whole lot more later. I would replace the valve springs and lifters...just my .02

Time to rebuild!
Changing bearings, pistons and rings, lifters, pushrod, rockers , vlaves and springs.
Do i have to change connecting rods? Or keep them and at least change the connecting rod bolts?

hows your drive line ?

i have a complete set up, new carrier and hangar bearings installed at merc dealer ( i have receipts) new input shaft, prepped and ready for install w/ new nuts bolts and washers still in mercury bags.
only thing i didn't touch was the drive shaft, it needs u joints, clean up and paint, setup is from center engine triple.

let me know or keep it the back of your head (rather you didn't need it,but if you did, you at least won't have to buy new)
