Default P5 Hydromotive Props on Formula 382 with 500 EFI

Anyone have 5 blades on their 382 with 500EFIs? What pitch are the 5 blades?

Was thinking about trading out my bravo 4 blade 28p's for some 5 blade hydromotive 25p

Do you think the hydromotives will hit my rev limiter hard with the reduced pitch?

It's more the pitch I am asking about. Does a 25p 5 blade=a 28p 4 blade from an rpm perspective?

Give Tom at Hydromotive a call for good info. I have always found him knowledgeable and very willing to discuss props.

I can tell you a 4 blade hydro to 4 blade bravo comparison, if you are running a 28 b1 now a 27 hydromotive Q4 would RPM about the same. The Q4s are also are larger diameter than bravos, that is a factor. So, add another blade and drop another inch in pitch would make it a 26 to be about equal rpm. that is kinda rule of thumb, add a blade drop an inch of pitch. You really will not know unless you try them.
