800hp is mild ? Don't let that fool you into running low weight oils.

I ment that it's a mild build.....only 4.5lbs of boost....but I'm seeing oil temp of 140 deg....maybe 150 max...if I should be running 50 instead of 40 I will do it....just cuious of how big the difference is between the 40 and the 50 weight.....my lake isn't big enough to run this boat WOT fully trimmed....dyno sheet shows 5900rpm 787 hp.....ive seen about 5400 86mph....if I could beat the bag out of this boat everytime I would but realistically I'm not beating the tits off her every ride

You sure that's not water temps? Are you running oil t-stat? If not you should although given circumstances I can see where it would be difficult to build temps. Given those temps assuming you have t-stats I'd say stay with a lighter weight oil.

Oil temp is usually close to the same as water temps....motor does not seem to get that hot....not sure if there is an oil thermostat....I'll have to check
