So , im having no luck with the studs. Any tricks for removing without chewing them all up.had to stop yesterday, shop was an oven.

Not yet, I was afraid I'd snap something off and be totally screwed. I'll give another go in a bit.

Pull the top of the manifold off and flip the entire thing upside down to access the IAC. More work but the throttle body studs won't be hacked up.

I actually got them to go today, pulling while tapping on the stud end got them to free up .is there an aftermarket part#?
​​​​​​​we got a bunch of company so I haven't even removed it from the tb yet.

I believe it is an AC Delco part. Is there a # printed on it ? I have a 95 502MPI tbody (and many other things) in my garage but too lazy know to go downstairs and check for you.

AC Delco parts on Amazon are cheap and usually in stock. AcDelco partnered with Amazon a few yrs ago.

This is $20 more, but comes with the Merc throttle body gasket you probably have to replace. Free shipping also .
And yeh, both are a Merc part #.

Where did I hear that this was actually more like a Ford Windstar IAC?

The 496's use the IAC for the Ford Windstar's.
