I haven't figured out the exact angle yet, but my engine sits pretty level in my boat, when floating. the weiand team g intake i have puts the carb leaning forward. I know everyone sells a wedged spacer to correct this, but is it something i really should worry about? I'd say its leaning forward less than 10 degrees, but usually they are leaning backwards a few degrees i think.

So you need the angle adaptor plate when carb is pointing uphill-forward at approx the angle the propshaft sticks thru the hull on a shaft boat?

The replies have me confused. When the boat sits in the water, the carb leans forward less than 10 degrees. Is this something I should address, or it's fine to run as is?

Mike says it is ok. So it is ok. I was asking if leaning back was the worry point. My sportfish has angle adapters cuz the engines are sitting at about a 15 degree down angle in the back. The engines have to sit at that angle, or props would stick straight thru transom like an arneson. And the adapters can't be reversed because of the spread bore pattern on bottom side.

The reason it leans forward is because the intake is usually used in cars. The motors lean backwards. I wouldn't do anything about it. But if putting an angled spacer makes you feel better, do it. It won't effect how the motor runs.

Angled spacers are typically used in inboards, like dereknkathy's app, because of the large tilt of the motors.

Most intakes are tilted forward a little..some more than others.

When I/O boats are running, most are bow up a little...some bow up more.

On a boat the fuel is sloshing so hard in those bowls that the carb can barely tell which way is up anyways. Unless you're getting a lean or flooding situation the carb is fairly forgiving, and probably close to level when on plane if it's a V bottom.
