I had this happen on my 454 mag/efi's with a Whipple System. Engines had about 90 hours before blowers and about 150 with blowers. Compression check before blower installation was good. Also was getting a lot of gas in the oil. Finally lost a piston or rings on Labor Day. Going to new 502 blocks and blower pistons per the recommendation of an engine builder. What is it about "blower pistons" that make them less prone to this? Different ring groove shape, different ring geometry, what?

Still love the blowers. Going to stick with them.

If you are getting gas in your oil you need to find out why. Overly rich conditions will wash the cylinders walls down and cause ring failure and excessive wear in your motor. Detonation is the worst for breaking rings and top ring lands. Blower pistons are forged which I believe your mag motor should of had. Forged pistons are stronger.
