Default FilterMAG...as per Hot Boat.

Just read the review on the FilterMAG in this months Hot Boat.
They say it cuts down the free flowing particals that the filter dosen't catch.

Saying: "There was 6.2% fewer particals larger than 2 microns in size, 33.6% fewer particals larger than 5 microns, and 74% fewer particals larger than 15 microns in size"

According to the analytical ferrography report, the oil in the engine with the FilterMAG(15.5hrs run time)had exactly the same rating as the new oil out of the can in regard to"rubbing wear", "scuffing wear" and ferrous oxide content.

So who out there run these things?
How much do you think they help?

They seem to only be referring to ferrous particles (iron), so bearing material (babbet, nickel, brass) wouldn't be cleaned. I wouldn't spend much money on it. Just stick a strong magnet to the bottem of your oil filter and I'm sure you achieve the same thing.

I agree with go4broke!!! I just use a huge old speaker magnet stuck to the bottom of my oil pan. I called them today, and asked how much. after shipping and handling it came up to almost $200.oo I almost droped the phone.
