IMCO Extreme SC drive....
#13
In regards to the loss of using the stock mechanical spedo. I plugged the hole at the bottom of the spedo pick up passage and drilled the speedo hole into the front of the drive and it works fine.

Tinkerboater. where is the passage located? Is it in the low water pickup. What did you plug it with and where did you drill the hole. I have the IMCO shorty and xr upper so the passage isn't used.

I have a buddy that put the 2 inch shorties on some Whippled 509's running 94 MPH and they did very well.
Another guy put them on a stock boat and he could not get it on plane.
For some reason I cannot explain they do not work well on the 36 with stock power. If you put the extension boxes on it will help them to work better.

He didn't have a bunch of hrs on the drives b4 he sold it. So the verdict is still out.
I do have a buddy that has a 620 ci in 830 hp 25 eliminator with a 250 shot of NOS on it and it lasted pretty long. But it wasn't a blower motor.
950 blower hp is a ton on a drive. So my opinion it's just a matter of time. I would go and get the 4X4 if I had that can of power

I'm currently running a Bravo XR with 1.36 gears on my 25 Outlaw. I've got a line on a used, less than 15 hours, Imco Extreme outdrive with the same ratio. Any opinions on what each is worth? Anyone interested in the Bravo XR?
