Help: Need A Set Of Pistons
HELP: Need a set of PISTONS (Post #1)
I need a set of "NITROUS" pistons for my motor
Bore: 4.165
Stroke: 3.75
rod: 6.00
Comp HT: 1.125
Either: Flat top or 12:1
Ring: 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 with spacer
Weight around 500 grams
THESE PISTONS ARE BEING USED WITH A LOT OF "NITROUS" 1/4 mile drag car
SRP/JE ,Venolia, ??
Thanks,
Rick

Mahle makes the best SB pistons on the planet. Very limited BBC selection, though. If you cannot find a source, post or pm. I need to know which piston pin you are using, how important the exact weight is, dome shape, compression ratio, etc. I don't recommend the SRP here, but JE and Bill Miller, Ross are good.

Ross are OK The comp height needs to be 1.125!!!
Also for NITROUS 350 hp kit
Pin: .927 dia. 2.750 lenth
Weight: not to important but close to each other
Flat top or 3cc dome ok
12 to 1 comp ratio
My price on SRP is 429.00
If you can get a ROSS at SRP price I'll order them today

I have had great luck with wiseco in my SB stroker. Accidentally ran way too lean and did no damage to the pistons. My buddy runs them in a 509 religiuosly squeezing 300-400 shot of nitrous and has had no problems. He is tearing the motor down this weekend for rings, brgs, gaskets and mag checks. I'll let you know how they look if you want.
