Thanks for the offer 1320. I'm doing a pair of new 520's. 420's and 425's just won't take me where I want to go. Yeah Tony, I know... 600hp would be some fun but I gotta consider The long term... you know... the 6 months or so before I sell this one and get an AT! However, I would be willing to stress test my current drive if you want to send me a pair of 850's on you...

Steve at totalmp not trying to butt head gaskets with you but the head gasket that was use on the new not rebuilt motor from them is the GM# 14097001 and is the same one Dennis Moores book said was a good useable gasket and also having the smallest compressed number of all the gaskets found if you are trying to lower the quench number buy head gasket alone.I had the same little dribble with the high dollar fel-pro to on the outher motor I had and was told that if I used a little Quicksilver perfect seal around the water ports it might not have happened.

The motors I am referring to where the remanufactured versions. Gm builds the new versions, thats probably why yours lasted. regardless of the reason, or part #, the head gaskets failed. While acceptable to some shops, it isn't by our standards. The point is: You guys work too hard all week to have these toys to be stuck replacing head gaskets on weekends. We don't want our customers wrenching, we want them riding
Mongo, feel free to post your latest experience with runs new's new Customer service dept. I guess the customer isn't always right, Huh?

Come on, Shiekman... out with it!
Hey Steve, here's how it went:
I called JK and discussed buying the 502-502's. The price was 5600.00. Then he said that I needed to buy oil pans (he said the regular ones wouldn't work with my motor mounts) and I would need flywheels. I said OK, and gave a 1000.00 credit card deposit. He faxed me an invoice. The next day, I went back on his site and went over the specs for the motors again, and it said it included flywheels. I sent him 2 emails over 2 days (thought it was time to put stuff down in writing) about this and got no response. I then emailed and faxed a cancellation letter. Well, JK finally responded.
First he said, "OK, I'll throw in the flywheels". I said this didn't feel right as this should have been included in the first place and to just cancel the order and return my deposit. He said, "no problem I'll return your deposit but I want you to know something. You're a f***ing a**hole. You can go f**k yourself!" I said' "OK". He hung up on me.
Sound like I made the right choice and wonder what would have happened down the road if I ever had a problem!
