Speedmaster #3 to #6 drives conversion
What is needed in terms of parts and work to go from a speedmaster 3# to a # 6 drive ? If I have 2 boats one with #3īs and one with #6īs can they easily be swaped around or is it a lot of work ? I know the engines have to come out and gimbals must be swaped aswell as transmissions. Does it involve filling and recutting the transom or is it less complicated ?

The 3 is a non-surfacing drive while the 6 is a surfacing drive. Therefore, the drive hights will be substantially different. While you probably didn't want to hear this, you have to fill and recut your transom as well as change the engine mounting heights. (I'm doing similarly now changing my 38 TG from Bravo's to 3A's.
