Hey John,
So, near as I can tell, this elimates the coil and everything else. Just drop it in and hook a hot to it and run the plug wires. Sounds too simple! Is this true?

Distributor
Imongo,
Yeah it's that simple, 1 Hot wire to Distributor & she is ready to run. There are several threads on this part. Remember you also going to need a Rev. limiter. Time will tell on how good it is.

Well I can add a few things on my install so far.....1st thing is if you run an alpha and have a shift-interupter you have to special wire the thing.....Second YOU MUST USE A 14g WIRE for the POWER source...According to DUI this is a must to get proper volts....I had to get a 4way ingnition switch and rewire to the distributor because the factory harness power wire was too small. This is often overlooked in the install. BUT the damn thing is RIGHT ON it sits like a brick @ idle and is VERY smooth during the advance. QUALITY PRODUCT!!!!!!

Re: Dristrubitors...
BAD-HABIT-
I am looking at the DUI distributor to replace all the T-Bolt 4
on my 1985 Merc v-8 with Alpha drive
Was the install & hook up to the shift interrupter easy?
Did DUI provide the wiring instructions?
Thanks

Re: Dristrubitors...
Yes It was fairly straight Forward....They did provide the instructions...Seems like I had a few questions but they were all cleared up with a phone call....2 years later and I still think it was one of the best things I did for my boat....

Re: Dristrubitors...
Thanks BH-
I have given up on the T-Bolt 4 system, I have trouble-shot this thing -replaced the sensor in the distributor- still no spark,
next item that Merc manual says to replace is the T-bolt module, and it is EXPENSIVE- If you can find one!
So I beleive the DUI is a better set up.
I was a concerned about the height of the set up, I have a structure above the distributor, should be ok.
Did they match the advance curve to your engine?thanks
