They look like the Teagues. If they are I have them and LOVE them :D:D

Yes, they do look like Teagues. I have them on my boat and they are very effective and affordable. They can not be used above 3k rpms though. Teague is also very willing to customize them to your exact needs. Boostpower has been quite helpful, but I've found their prices to be out of line. You can get these directly from Teague for less than a grand.

yeh, the eddie marine tips are the ones i first saw and was going to use, they are $700 with a 14db reduction. but then i found the boostpower tips for $760 with a claimed reduction of 19db.
i guess what i'm trying to get at is; they look the same and they're priced nearly the same. so are they really the same unit only with the performance exaggerated by boostpower? i called boostpower, but didn't really get a straightforward answer. 14db to 19db is a huge difference for the same price. so what does everyone think, is the boostpower unit built with less quality? |
What is the inner diameter of the Boostpower tip. If it's smaller, then maybe that's where the inceased decibel reduction is obtained.
Read the Eddie Marine information. They have a 4" inner diameter. Better for performance on the top end. There was a recent thread on the Teagues burning up solenoids. The Eddie's supposedly had addressed the problem. Maybe Teague did also. A good question to ask when buying. |
