mercruiser 525 sc install
hello I am installing a 99 mercruiser 525 sc in a 1989 formula 242 l went to plug my male end of the boats wiring harness into the engine and it will not fit my local dealer who was to busy to elaborate told me to break off pin # 4 and he thinks it will work then he commented he was to busy to say anything else. Dose anyone know if this is right if so what did this pin do that is now not needed ? or will something not work ? or is there other things that need to be addressed ? dose anyone have wiring diagrams ?
any help would be appreciated thanks ,Michael

Well if you break all the pins off it will fit then! I am looking at the schematics from an 89 manual 4F, pin 6 is Red/Purple. It is a common wire to the Starter Slave Solenoid Red/Pur, Circuit Breaker and Red/Pur on a Mando alternator. PM me and I can FAX you the schematic. The schematic shows the relative clock positions of each pin and where they go. Sounds like a fun project, you must be close if you are plugging in.

I think he's the dude thats claiming you screwed him on e-bay. If I were you I would consider a reply to his thread in general boating discussions. There's 33 responces waiting for an answer from you! Cant miss it, it clearly has your name on it.

Looks like that "MF" ran away like a little poodle with his tail between legs. Come on Mike, lets hear your side of the story. Inquiring minds want to know in the "general boating discussion" forum.
