Cabin floor resto

The carpet in the cabin of my 302 is pretty well shot from water sitting in it when it hasn't been jacked up high enough in front when on the trailer. I've decided to remove the carpet and put an epoxy floor in it. I haven't decided if I want to run it up the sides all the way to the cushions or not. I think I'm just going to do the floor for now, and I can extend it up the sides later if I want to.

Here is the area after the carpet has been removed.

I have the carpet hanging loose on the side for now, I'll tape it up before installing the epoxy.

The material is one we use in some commercial applications, here is what it looks like. The color I'm going to use is charcoal, this one is called salt and pepper.

This is a job we did with it last night in a Gold's Gym locker room. I'm just waiting now for a day without any wind, I've got a damn Jacaranda type tree that is FULL of blooms this year, and they will blow into the material. The blooms are so thick, they look like green snow in my yard.

Are you replacing just the carpet or are you pulling the floor out of there as well?

Looks great, but will it be slippery when wet?

There's been a few discussions on the board about people thinking of doing this. I think your the first to actually do it though. It will be interesting to see how it holds up.
Good luck with it keep us informed.

There is a sealer that can be applied to it that makes it smoother, but I'm not putting it on, I want a better frictional coefficient.

I figured, why not, I have the tools and the material, if I don't like the way it turns out, I'll just carpet over it.
