500EFI Rev Limiters
I'm sure there have been threads on this issue, but I am looking for the easiest most cost effective way to increase the rev limiters from 5250 to ~5500 on 2000 500 EFI's. Is it possible to reflash the Ecm or should I just convert to MSD ignition, and what's involved there. My current Motor has the MSD 7 ignition and its a simple turn of a dial. thanks in advance for the suggestions....

The only way to change the rpm limit on a 500efi is to reprogram.
If you will have the ECU limiter placed high or removed, you can use your ignition as the limiter-much easier on the motor as the ECU cuts the fuel, not the ignition. There is no way to take out the ECU limiter without having someone reprogram it that I know of. Arizona Speed and Marine can help.
