stuck !!
CBIX,
I just went through this with a 42 Sonic. After swapping the p/st pump from engine to engine I decided to order a new control valve. After 20 minutes to put it on the steering felt brand new again.
I check all that you checked as well, cables good, gimbles turn free to. Thats the only other thing it could have been.
And boy is that little thing pricey!!!! Near $350.00 !!!

cbix,
I may have a control valve laying around that I could sell you pretty cheap. It is from a newer style unit, not sure what year. I bought a transom assy and it was included, but didnt use it. If your interested I can hunt up some pics..
Easiest if you email me [email protected]

turning hard..
MAKDADDY,
Good for me this was not my boat. It was one of my customers with a 42 Sonic. The switch from hard to easy was great when job was done. I always had to grip the whell when turning before, once I did the cylinder I could use 2 fingers. Incredible differance.
