I added an MSD 6AL with the MSD wiring harness adapter and it definately made a difference. You can actually hear the difference (with dry exhaust) and the soot has been reduced noticably. Not a very hard install, it is practically plug and play.

It is a real easy install, just get the right plugs from MSD and all you do is plug it into your original harness. It will definetly take you longer to screw the box to your transom than wiring it in.

Ok,does anybody have the actuall part numbers from the MSD that they used. Not so much the box but the wiring harness and plugs.I want to order the right parts from the start.Did you have to run a seperate wire straight to the battery or did you get power from the harness?

I would just call MSD to get the right part #'s. Yes, you do have to run a seperate power and ground. And don't forget to put a circuit breaker on the power wire.

Alright,I went out today and ran the boat.Did a plug reading and they all seem to be the same.Except one plug is dark all the way down the electrode. This plug is also on the side of the motor that is running the richest.I did a compression test and leak down, all seem to be good and really close.Actually closer than I hoped for.So now Ive got it narrowed down to a bad injector or plug wire.I didnt have time to check the wire and dont have any way of checking the injector.Does anybody have a different idea for me........?Whats the best way to check wires and injectors?Use a meter on the wire but what about the injector?

the injector could be dirty and dripping instead of atomizing the fuel. Cheap easy way to isolate is swap the injectors with other cyls and run it, then check the pulgs again. Run some injector cleaner through it,,, maybe youlll get lucky.
