Default OT: trailer brakes quit working.

My electric trailer brakes quit working yesterday I think the prob is in my truck and not the trailer. Once they quit working so did my brake lights on the truck, and the passenger side turn signal flashes 100mph. when applied

Does the brake controller supply the trailer w/a 12v signal to apply its brakes.....or is it supposed to be a different voltage, if its 12v I figure that I can "jump"12v to the trailer to eliminate that for a start.

Any other suggestions?

Yup its 12v.
Sounds like you blew a fuse and or lost the ground to the trailer.

The controler varys the voltage....the harder you syep on the brakes the higher the voltage...12 volts=full on
Stupid question......but......did you check the fuse ?

Can you hook the trailer to someone elses truck? eliminate the trailer as the problem. If someone wired the truck for trailer {not factory} probably a bad connection in the rear of the truck. salt gets in all those connections back there! If they used "scotchlocks" tear them ALL out !! They SUCK !!!
Trst light& Ohm meter........have fun !!!

My truck is wired for electric brakes (big round plug) if you want me to stop by just to try them. I will be going through Bucyrus sometime this week.

28ss its a 95 chevy. I checked all my fuses and they are fine I am going to replace the brake light relay under the hood and see what happens, I think I have a bad brake switch under the pedal, because before my trailer brakes quit working my brake lights wouldnt work by pushing the pedal but they would come on if I squeezed the manual override bar on the electric brake controller along with the trailer brakes themselves, but now I squeeze the bar and nothing happens.....no lights, no trailer brakes. I know that I have power to the brake controller because it has a green light to indicate power and it is on, it also has a series of l.e.d.s which indicate the amount of brakes being applied and they even come on when I squeeze the bar. Another funny thing is that when I apply my turn signals the green power light on the brake controller blinks with the turn signals....I never noticed this before
