You'll need to reposition
the shifter cable in the shifter
mechanism, to the opposite
side of the lever, unless you
want to run it with the l/h
rotator in reverse shift position

yep . .i remember they cant be run in reverse like brovos. also how do i know what the drive ratio is and if it is a left hand (incase i find one in one of my local yards). is this info stamped on the case? mine are stock merc 260 instalations. will all the V8's have the same ratio and the smaller motors be different? thanks again

Sorry, No; Wish it were that simple. It's a special lower gear-case. The gear ratios all happen in the upper case. And I could be wrong about this, but I think that maybe the L.H. unit didn't shift. So you had to deal with the docking thing with one engine/drive. The cool setup was opposite rotation engines (requires a cam and starter change to one engine - probably cheaper than the L.U.) Put the L.H. prop on the rev.rot. side and have fun. --- Jer

hmmm . . . now its not sound'n so easy. i found counter lowers on sterndrives.com for like $1900. if all i hd to do is bolt one of those on imnot to worried about the price for the ease of doing that. also i dock on one motor now anyway. altough it would be nice to split shifts, its not mandatory. my main goal is handeling at speed. with the two rights it seems to pull to the right and i really want to eliminate that. thanks for all the info guys. i'll figure this out yet. right now i need to get a shoping list togather to hit the ground running.
