I an weighing all my options on what to do about replacing what used to be a nice 502 that the lower end let loose. One of them is buying a short block and putting all my good parts back on the new block

Any ideas on $$$$ and availabiity

502 partial engine new from GM Performance. Had one delivered three years ago for $3800.00 Comes with more than the standard short block. It has an oil pump, oil pan, timing set, timing cover, balancer, and the ZZ502 cam installed with roller lifters and retainer.
