Hey Formula 31,
I went to the Crower web page today. They may have a good choice for me.
Grind 222HR229 222° intake/229° exhaust duration, .540" intake/.563"exhaust lift with 110°lobe separation.
Their catalog says peak torque at 3400 and peak horsepower at 5000rpm in a 454.
I think it would get me over 400 ponies...
According to Dennis Moore's book, this would be the perfect cam for my engine.
I e-mailed them to see if they have anyone using it in a marine engine.

Patrick,
2 good hydraulic cams you might also consider are Crane's 132561 with 530/551 lift and 228/236 duration on 114° center. This was Mercruiser's 420hp cam and the cam used for the 525sc motor. My buddy used it in his twin 280 Baja and the torque was unreal. The other Crane cam, 134241, I used to modify a gen IV 330hp motor. Lift is 534/553 with 226/236 duration on 112° center. I would guess it helped put me close to 400hp. Both cams were very reliable and allowed the boats to handle like stock motors around the docks.

454 Gen V MAG, Gils, Magnum Choice, 9 to 1 Compression
I was talked into a Comp 11-236-4 (226/236 @ 112LSA) and had a critical reversion problem
Switched to to the 222/230 cam Dennis recommended. No reversion, idles and runs great.
