Go with the blowers if your engine is built for them: means correct compression for the boost, the correct cam and valves, good exhaust, properly set-up carbs. My engines are "out of boost" 95% of the time and I've had 65 trouble-free hours so far.

I may be wrong, but I believe the wierd rod
angle/ geometry is on the standard decks once you
start going past 540ci.
And that would be the reason for going to Tall Decks.

As far as blowers, I agree that set up properly
they can run for a long time. Hard to argue
boost isn't wearing things out. And once your
into the boost forget the fuel cause it's going
fast.
I like the simplicity of a 572ci and set up properly
they will run a long time as well.
Also like the never ending Torque made with a tall
deck.
Basically depends what each guy is into.
I was talking with Nauti Kitty and he was on a
47' Apache this past weekend.
Triple 572ci. 700hp. each 13 people on
board running 80mph.
Fresh water
Sounds like a good time.
