Post Are Motor Oil and Transmission Oil Thermostats worth getting???

I'm in the process of getting a Oil Cooler and Transmission Cooler (my old one is not handling it.Too small). While I was looking at some coolers I noticed Keith Eickert has Oil Thermostats and Transmission Oil Thermostats. Are they worth getting?Plus does anyone have any recommendations on Oil coolers.I have a 454 in my 24ft Superboat and the cooler that I have in there is a split SenDure Trans oil and motor oil cooler unit.I can only run so long until I have to slow down so the Motor Oil can cool down. I appreciate all suggestions. Thanks

I have a large oil cooler and one of the Keith Eickert oil thermostats on a modified 502. The oil pan is a Gill 14 quart and a remote mounted Napa filter (HP6 equiv.) My oil temperature has never gone above 220 degrees (thermostat setting) regardless of how much I abuse it.

I run both engine and trans thermos from KE. The engine logic was a given but adding themos to the trans was suggested to me by Huber. As far as coolers, SenDure seems to make a nice cooler.

My engine builder is pretty strong headed on this topic. He said:
Don't ever run hard below 180 on oil temp and never go over 230. This is reading temps after oil cooler. I don't have a oil stat on boat. Eddie marine cooler and 14 qt pan on a N/A 540. Late this fall it takes forever to get to the 180 mark. I am going to wait and see if this problem decreases this summer when the water temps come up. If not I guess I will be buying a oil stat.
