I was able to get it off with Comet gel cleaner (like Soft Scrub). I wanted to try it before trying SnoBowl (which I happen to have). I'll save the Sno Bowl idea for a later (tougher) stain. Come to think of it, my engine compartment and bilge area could use some help. Maybe SnoBowl is the trick for that.

The Works bath and shower cleaner also works very well.

FYI
Bathroom cleaning products are abrasive or contain a sizeable amount of acid. Not the greatest thing on shiny gelcoat.

Soft Scrub does not contain abrasives. What do you recommend when soap and water won't do the trick??

Yup, they contain the same acid as the hull cleaners you buy at the marine store. Spray on cleaners like the one I use contain no abrasives. I wonder how that stuff you spray on your tile to keep the shower clean would hold up on a boat?

I have used Slimmy Grimmy before, but it is just an acid based remover. Had a friend give me a can of SD-20 to remove the exhaust stains from the transom.
Blown Gas = More Exhaust Stains.
The stuff was awesome.
I left the boat in the water for a week and ended up with a good stain in the hull. Used some left over Slimmy which somewhat worked but it was so so. Grabbed the can of SD-20, sprayed it on and wiped it completely off. The stuff is not acid or abrasive. It's safe to use in the house with no gloves or other protection. It's only around $4 for a 16 ounce spary can. I used it to get an pen mark out of a cloth sofa recently.

Fiberglass Stain Remover or "FSR"
When my hull starts to get stained,I apply the gel with a damp cloth and the stain goes away almost instantly.
Wipe and wash it off and your set.
The product has an acid base but isn't harsh to my trailer or the boat's deckware as some others I've
been around.

Just my $.o2
