HP500 rebuild cost?
#2
While doing it, it might be worth only a small additional to add a longer crank and make a 540 out of it. The price of alumn heads these days it makes more sense to add them instead of rebuilding yours. You can buy a 540 shortblock for under $5000 and heads for another $2000 and then sell your longblock intact for $2000.
Or sell me your motors complete.

If you take it to a reputable shop and they machine everything to factory tolerances I'd expect to spend around $4000. That should come with a written warrantee, usually 12 months.

I do the HP500 to 540" conversions for $4,750.00
Eagle or Scat crank and rods, J&E pistons, Crane hydraulic roller, Isky red zone lifters and springs. Including all "routine" overhaul parts, machine work etc.
Have two in work now.

Have not done an EFI. It would require a reprogram of the ECU. I would be happy to take care of the long block portion. Not sure who to recommend for the ECU.
