the new seals are made different they have a hump inside where it sits against the tub from the heathe exchanger.

just gave me a reason to flush the coolant now its a 2002 sas coolant should have been replaces after 5yrs anyways

my question is what size is the coolant block drain plug on the starbord side of the block ??? looked like ti might be a 1/2 extension but its bigger?? maybe torx or 3/4 extension might fit?? anyone know the easiest way to flush and get all old coolant out??

Wink

Remove the two drain plugs from each side of the block on the lower bottom middle just above the oil pan top edge.

Best Regards,

Best way is to use an 18mm universal socket if you're doing it in the boat. The plug is brass and the allen wrench easily rounds out the hole. It's a 6 point hex plug as well as an allen.

Your allan might work. If you round it out this works better: FSUM18A

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....e=&dir=catalog

Sears sells them but they break pretty easily because they are screwed together.

If cheap is all that matters than it doesn't matter how you do it.

Don't use a 12 point socket on it.

An 18mm 6 point socket and an 18mm allan are not the same. If you are trying to use an allan than you better try a about a 6mm up to an 8mm allan socket.

An 18mm allan socket is the same size as your oil fill !

look at it closer you will see it is a 6 point plug with an allan hole in the center of it..... both sides are the same. You might get someone to do this for you.
