Default 351 Ford Ski Boat Question

I posted awhile back about some problems my brother was having with his ski boat. It was determined the carb was bad. After he put a new one on it runs good, good powerband, but wont start back up after running it. It would before all the work. where would you start to look? heres the email he sent me.

A 1994 American Skier with a 351 HO. The boat ran good last season except
for low end miss. With suggestions from the message board, I put a rebuilt
carb on it. Now, I got the boat running good, low speed miss is gone and
consistent power throughout the rpms. Now the boat is extremely hard to
start. It turns over but does not fire. I tried starting fluid and it still
didn't fire. Last season I did a complete tune up including cap, rotor,
wires and plugs. It never had a problem statring prior to this winter. Any
suggestions.

Does it have electronic ignition?

My old Ski Nautique did not have it but I added it. We also changed a buddy of mine's Ski Supreme over. We both had some issues until converting them.

He said the first time he tried to start it, it was hard starting. and it didnt start the last time when he pulled it out.

try just pulling the spark arrestor off,and inspecting the venturies after letting it warm up and then shutting it down, you should see it leak!and it also sounds like you never set the float level anyway!
