Prop Hub

Whats the best style of prop hub kits to use on a 450ish HP BBC with a bravo 1. I just bought a second prop so now I have one for top speed and one for rough water, I just also want an extra hub kit on hand, but have never looked into it. I don't trust our local marina so im turning to the pros here. Thanks

Can you get just the hub w/o the kit, I have a key lock and washer on mine so I dont need the entire kit.

I don't know if you can buy just the hub,but you can get the kit for only $65 including drive sleeve adapter, nut and washer, and it is not a bad idea to have some spare parts.

Part number 840389A2 is the large prop shaft hub kit. This can be used on all Bravo 1 props that utilize the Mercury Flo-Torque hub system (square bore hub).

If you have one of the old Bravo 1's that have the splines cut into the center of the prop then you would not be able to convert the prop to the larger prop shaft. The easy way to tell if you have one of these is that the part number on the prop will end in A45.

If in doubt as to what you have post or e mail me a picture of the inside of the prop.
