Default IMCO Vs. Stellings extension box..

I may be interested in having one installed on a new sunsation 288, was wondering what everyone's opinion are .. Sunsation told me it was good for about 2-3 mph and a smoother ride.. what do they go for and who has the best prices.. Thanks...

No, on the Hyd. steering... I don't think it's mandatory, but it's probably a good idea ??? or am I wrong..

CHRIS MY THOUGHTS ON IMCO V/S STELLINGS.I HEARD THAT THE BRAVOS DONT LIKE THE STELLINGS BECAUSE THEY DONT USE AN ABSORBER THAT WILL TAKE ABSORBE SHOCK.INSTEAD THE SHOCK GOES INTO THE UPPER GEARS AND BOOM.I JUST SOLD MY IMCO SETUP THAT USED AN ABSORBER AND FLEX SHAFT FOR A SONG.WENT TO A SPEEDY.ALSO WITH AN XBOX U NEED EXTERNAL STEERING.IF YOU INST A XBOX THAT WILL LOWER YOUR X DIMENSION AND THAT WILL SLOW U DOWN UNLESS YOU SHORTEN THE DRIVE.I BELIEVE 12 INCHES BACK IS EQUAL TO 1 INCH DOWN.1 INCH DOWN IS LESS RPM.

I have used both Stellings and Imco, both are good products (I prefer the Stellings due to the internal parts and setup). The Imco setupis probably more simple as they extend the input shaft.

If someone wants a pair of Stellings I have two I am not using and I have the external steering adaptors also.

Full hydraulic steering will be mandatory. The tiller on the stock system will be disconnected. In fact, the Stellings doesn't even use the same inner transom plate.

Thanks Z.Zuperboat, I'm singing the good song. can't wait to get the box on. Chris, I'm installing the Imco box from Z.Zuperboat on a 251 checkmate convinsor. Since I'm also changing motors, I will not be able to compair the setups directly but hopefully it will improve the handling. Time will tell.

The Stellings allows for the drop in drive height in the box. Depending on the transom angle, you could be slightly higher, neutral or slightly deeper. And you can still go 1" up or down from there.

Thanks for all the replies guys.. I didn't realize FULL hydraulic was necessary,, I was thinking of just going with the single ram add on... scratch that I guess..
