This doesnt seem right
Hi guys, i have a 24 pantera with a 502 435 hp, bravo 1, 1.5 gears, stainless marine exaust and running a 25 p quicksilver mirage, 68 mph gps and 53 to 5400 rpms, to me it seems i should be going faster than this, i went today to check my boat and being curious i looked at the prop and this is what it had
GE Quick Siver 48 13705 A 41 25p
Now i looked inside the prop and saw this numbers
48-13705-23
makes no sense, am i really turning a 23 pitch and they screwed up and stamped a 25p on it?

With those numbers it matches a 23p if you are at about 13% slip. If your slip was around 19% a 25p would seem right. That was calculated at 5350 rpms.
Take the prop to a local shop and have it checked to be sure. Shouldn't cost anything to have them check it for pitch.

If everything was functioning properly, a 25" pitch would be running faster with less RPM.
I would think something isn't right!!
Keep in mind though, that prop doesn't have as much cup or "effective" pitch as say a Mirage Plus.
How old is the drive coupler?? Where did you get the prop?? Is the motor original to the boat?? How old is the Drive? If everything is funtioning properly, I would try a 25" Mirage Plus. If you are close with that, send it out to have it labbed for max performance!
You might ask Julie from Throttle Up or Darin at Houston Prop. They are both reputable member/experts of this board.
