Default bad power pack?

I have a 1989 Johnson 175, nad when i run it for a while, and shut it off, I can't get it to start again. Also, it's hard to start when it's warm out. Can my S.L.O.W. sensor in the power pack be bad? Also, how can I test it to make sure? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not all that up to speed on OMC V6's but i thought they used 2 power packs, one for each bank. This would indicate that it should at least try to run on half of them if it is a power pack.

Screamandfly.com has the OMC experts.
