anybody ever use the caps on top of yor valves, i just installed a set from cran because my valves had a small groove in them where the roller rocker rides on the valve. these are 500hps with 265 hours any insight would be great.

I have not run any on a 500hp but I have been using them for several years on a couple other motors. They will work fine just make sure you check your valve chain geometry. Normally you will have to shorten the valve or adjust with push rod length for the extra height when using lash caps. Just my .02

Be sure the caps are riding on the tips of the valves and not hitting the valve locks. Special locks are made with lash cap recess to prevent this. I would also recommend lash caps with the oil hole. It is normal to have a .060" wide wear pattern on the tip of the valve.
