best drive for 800's in nortech supercat

best drive for 800's in nortech supercat
have given into the fact that a bravo style drive will not hold up on this application. lookig at the arneson, konra, max machine and number 5 and 6 merc. does the arneson rob horsepower like the 6 does.. for the noney does anyone have any suggestions. will arnesons hold up as well as the six?

Jim,
When you make the power change direction you lose power- Bevel gear 90 degree turns are a good example in many drives (twice actually). Theoretically, you still lose some when you turn slightly at the u-joint in an arneson but you have much less loss, more strength, reliability, cooler temps etc.

i would think the arenson would hold most any HP but some real factors to concider ecpecially at LOTO manuveriablity in tight quarters a negative, resale a negative, people to work on a negative. there was a 40 super hawaii at the lake that had surface drives and a big cat that big thinder had and the lake had them i dont think there rearl popular, i personally would not even consider a surface drive,
