valve cover breather
running twin 350 mags what is the purpose of the breather going to the air filter? can i change to fixed mount breather one on each cover with baffels?and if i do will i have oil residue over the motors.

If there isn't an oil baffle in the valve cover, you need one in the breather or oil will splash out.
The only reason it's vented to the filter is to burn some of the blowby gas in the engine. Not a big deal on a sport boat, but venting the crankcase inside a cruiser stinks.

If you have proper baffle set up oil blow by should not be a problem. If you have a enclosed compartment you need at least a hose to the carb breather. I prefer a PCV valve set up but that is just me. Enclosed compartment will not only smell without it but is also not the best idea safety wise. Just my .02
