Default Imco Sc Or Teague Platinum Drives??

Looking to purchase new drives. Want to avoid moving motors forward for trannys. Rather than a regular XR, would someone recommend a Teague Platinum or an Imco SC. It is my understading that IMCO has beefier case and tower. Any thoughts? Boat is a 37 Outerlimits with 540 pushing between 620-640hp.

Went with imco's late last year, no problems after 50 hrs. Spoke with Teague and looked at the other options before making the decision. I run 800hp/890 torque in a fountain sport cruiser. I wouldn't hesitate putting the imco's on yours. If you want to know more about the imco's or my decision, pm me.

I compared the two drives carefully before i purchased my IMCO SC. Teague basically puts a XR drive together with their hardened parts. IMCO gives you a solid lower with the optional 1.25 prop shaft and their upper case is water jacketed to cool the drive, plus the secure the top cap with 8 bolts rather than the standard 4..

I run 750hp and should have no problems as long as i change the oil every 10 hrs. IMCO recommends TORCO.

Compare the drives, you will see the difference.

I would suggest Max Machine Works.

I would too if you ran higher horse power, MMW is more costly than IMCO or TEAGUE.

I would argue that the MMW is the low cost. You get what you pay for. What is the cost if you break a drive?

the work max machine does is second to none...if you want a drive that will last, call jason and aaron...they may not have the name that the other two do, but they don't break like the others do!!!

Sticking with the two choices you have mentioned...I would go with the IMCO SC.
