Default Water-spot remover

Drug the old 311 out of the H20 yesterday and sprayed it down with some water spot reomover. Left a little brownish-yellowish stain on the hull in a couple of spots. I washed it right off. Most of the stain is on the running surface, but there is a little above the "edge". Has anyone experienced this? What happened? Can it be fixed? If so, with what? It is fresh LOTO water and I hosed it right off.
