Whipple on HP525
Whipple has a kit for the HP 525. I was wondering if anyone has installed one on this motor and what their experience has been.
If you have, would be great to hear before and after top speeds.
Any expected issues with Bravo I XR ITS Sportsmaster Drives?
Is there anything else you need not included in the kit? The only thing I can identify is the plumbing for the intercooler.
Thanks,
John

Re: Whipple on HP525
John,
I added Whipples to my 500 EFI's about 3 years ago, and they've been virtually trouble free aside from dialing in the ECU's, which Dustin took care of in quick order. We went from 84 MPH to 98 +/-. From others who have also installed Whipples, you can expect somewhere between 10 to 17 MPH increases, obviously depending on hull, props, etc. As to your outdrives, anything less than a #6 and it's a roll of the dice
I've been fortunate to only have replaced one complete set of gears (upper and lowers) one upper housing when a vertical shaft snapped, and just a lower set on another drive. Mine is a triple engine installation. They are XR's with 1.35 gears and 30 inch P-5 Hydromotives.
Good luck John, Whipple builds a good product and they stand behind it with word and deed.
