Question How do i remove this fitting ?

i have a small outdrive gear oil leak comming from the fitting that goes through the hull up to the remote reseviour. I have the brass style fitting with a hex on the outer side on the boat that fits into a "V" shape that is molded into the gimble housing......and on the inside there is a Nylock nut that holds it tight to the transom, with another fitting that the hose from the resivour connects to.

I have removed the inside hose fitting, and the nylock nut. Now there should be nothing holding it and it should be able to push out, but it wont budge. There is not enough room to get down there with a hammer and beat it out. You almost need to have some type of spreader to go in between the motor and the fitting to "press" it out.

anyone ever take this out that can give me a hint or a trick ?

I believe that it is one piece and the leak is probably at the hose connection at either end.
