Question New project

This winter I want to add hydraulic steering. Does anybody know where to find a schematic of a hydraulic set up(with power assist). I'm trying to understand exactly how it works.
Also...do you really need the assist? I mean when one engine or drive takes a dump , you know it's always the one WITH the p/s pump so you come back on one engine and NO p/s
And while I've got your attention...anybody ever install dual center mount rams on a 272 Formula with a Silent Thunder box on back. Those center outlets look like they could be a problem when you tilt the drives up .

The prop torque is something fierce, so you'll want the boost.

The schematic is pretty simple. The pump produces pressure which is fed to the helm. The helm has 3 lines coming out of it. One is a low pressure return line that goes back to the pump. The other two are high pressure lines. Think of them as being left and right. These two lines go back to the rams. At the transom the lines are split into two with each being connected to the ram.

AH , HA. So The helm takes the place of the brazil valve. That's what was screwing with my mind. I was trying to figure were that went in the loop
