Thanks for the feedback. I actually spoke with a rep from the Toggler company and this is the approach I think will be easiest and work best.
The SS version of the Toggler is not easy to come by. The zinc plated versions are available at Home Depot however the 1/4" SS are not easily available at your local hardware shop. The Toggler rep I spoke with is going to send me 10 - 1/4" Togglers with 1/4" machine bolts in SS. He is sending them to me for $22 including shipping.
After talking to the rep I found several marine stores that carry the 1/4" SS toggler specifically for attaching pedestal and other types of boating seats. Here's one link to Overton's that carries them under boating seat accessories if anyone's interested.
